In this blog post, I kick off a new video series where I’ll be reviewing products for our tow vehicle and RV from a website called etrailer.com. The first four are badly needed additions to our new truck: Mudflaps – Tailgate Shock Absorber – Floor Mats – Window Visors.

Disclaimer: I received the products in these videos free of charge for review from etrailer.com

WeatherTech Mud Flaps

First up, I installed front and rear mudflaps onto our 2018 Ram 3500 pickup truck. The mudflaps I selected are from a company called WeatherTech.  I decided to go with the WeatherTech since they are made in the USA, and they stated no drilling would be required. Also, they are designed specifically for my Ram truck’s wheel wells, so a perfect fit was ensured.

Dee Zee Tailgate Assist

In this second video, I show how I installed a Dee Zee truck tailgate assist for our Ram 3500 from a company called Dee Zee. The Dee Zee shock absorber bolts onto the driver’s side of the truck’s tailgate, allowing for a smooth, controlled tailgate opening. At least a dozen people recommended this item to me when I reviewed my new 2018 Ram 3500 last year

I have to say the installation was relatively straightforward and took maybe a 1/2 hour or so. My wife is Anne is most pleased with the results. She is currently suffering from an autoimmune disease called PMR (Polymyalgia Rheumatica) that affects her shoulder joints, and this is a welcome addition to the big one-ton diesel pickup truck.

WeatherTech Floor Mats

In the third video, I install a set of WeatherTech Floor Mats. I chose the WeatherTech for several reasons. Number one they are a quality product that is designed and made in America! They are designed to fit perfectly, and several folks have highly recommended them to me.

Our truck is a base model ST (Tradesman) and came with just a thin vinyl floor. These WeatherTech will be a welcome addition, saving wear and tear on the OEM flooring and keeping our shoes and pants clean.

WeatherTech Window Deflectors

The fourth product to install was a set of WeatherTech Window Deflector Visors. They are designed specifically for the truck and simply slide into the channel between the window and weather stripping. I wanted the visors to help keep the rain out of the cab, ventilation, and hopefully to stop the annoying wind buffeting when the windows are down cruising at highway speeds.

The install was quite easy and took only minutes. Thumbs up for looks.

I hope these four accessories will be helpful additions to our new truck. Big thanks to etrailer.om for offering them for review and letting me pick the products I desired.

We’ll put them to use during our current snowbird travels, and I’ll come back in a future video and let you know how they performed. Our truck is at about 18,000 miles, and I’m planning a review update when it hits 20,000. Stay tuned!  Cheers, Ray
