Anne and I demo a new product from BougeRV in this video. It’s an electric folding wagon powered by a compact 133Wh lithium battery. A control panel on the handle has drive and reverse throttles, brake levers, and a button to cycle through 3 gear speeds. (1.79 – 2.46 – 3.13 MPH)

Unboxed Wagon

The max battery range is 12 miles, the max cargo weight is 440 lbs, and the max incline is 30 degrees. It has several different brakes: Hand-free brake, Posture Sensing Brake + Electronic Brake + Foot Brake. Cargo capacity is 180 liters or 240 with the tailgate open. A metal frame and heavy fabric material support the cargo.

Wheels and Handle

The unit weighs around 40 lbs and is 39.37 by 24.02 by 24.80 inches. Power is supplied by electric motors that are included in the rear wheels. Overall, the build quality looks good, and the power does help move heavy loads with ease.

The main drawbacks are difficulty maneuvering in tight areas with heavy loads and the hard plastic wheels don’t have much grip. I also have concerns about whether the handle and steering components are strong enough to last. I plan to test it at the boatyard and docks this spring, so stay tuned for a second video in May.

*Review Update* BougeRV Powered Wagon vs Coleman Manual for our Boat

In this video, I give an update on the BougeRV powered folding wagon I reviewed a few months ago. I promised an update when we got back to the boat. I also provide a brief review of my 2-year-old Coleman heavy-duty folding wagon and explain why I’ve decided to continue using it for boating, rather than opting for the powered BougeRV.

The main drawbacks to the BougeRV power wagon for me are size and weight. Also, I find it challenging to get the throttle and braking right on steep downhill grades, and the handle feels flimsy for use when loaded up on steep marina ramps.
