Footage and photos from our September 2023 visit to the famous Prideaux Haven in BC’s Desolation Sound Provincial Marine Park. The place is on many boater’s bucketlist and we are lucky enough to have it in our boating backyard. Early September after Labour Day was an excellent time to visit as the summer crowds had dissipated, leaving much more room in the anchorage.
Highlights for me were the calm, foggy mornings after some rain. Watching the clouds clear from the mountains. And to top it off, a startling Orca encounter. One morning, seemingly out of nowhere, two large killer whales surfaced not 30 feet from the front of our boat while I was on deck! A pod of whales had decided to come into Prideaux Haven anchorage.

Our Return Visit to Gorgeous Prideaux Haven
This video includes some clips and photos from our second visit to Prideaux Haven anchorage this year. We spent three more days enjoying this spectacular location. This time, as fall approached, only a few other boats were there with us. The vibe was super peaceful, matching the super natural BC coast scenery.
