In this video, I dive into the Vtoman X7, a budget-friendly combo jump starter and air compressor that packs a punch for under $100. In the past, I purchased the pricier NOCO GB150 booster and Vair 450p-RV compressor. But I thought it was worth a look at a more inexpensive solution.
Fair Disclosure: Product was sent to me as a free review sample
After unboxing the compact unit (complete with a handy vinyl pouch, 8-gauge jumper cables, air hose attachments, and USB cables), I test the inflator on my trailer tire, pumping it from 36 to 69 PSI in 8.5 minutes. It was pretty loud and felt quite warm to the touch, but it auto-cuts off and handles up to 160 PSI with presets for cars, bikes, and more. It shines on quick jobs like topping off my fifth-wheel hitch airbag in just a minute.
For jumping, it delivers 4,250 peak amps (800 for 3 seconds) with solid protections like reverse polarity and a boost button for weak batteries, though the short leads are a minor gripe. The built-in flashlight offers steady, strobe, and SOS modes, and at 88.8 Wh, it’s no heavy-duty beast but perfect for roadside essentials.
I didn’t have a chance to test the jump-starting feature, but if I get a chance to start a vehicle with a dead battery, I’ll be back with a second video.
X7 Jump Starter Function Demo
The other day, I got the opportunity to test out the VTOMAN X7’s jump-start function. Our neighbour in the RV park had trouble starting his vehicle, and I was able to help him out. I’m not a fan of the lightweight clamps, but the device started the car quickly.
