I’m back with a quick review of a couple of new fans from BougeRV, the F01 and F02, which should be perfect for keeping us cool this summer on the boat. Our trawler doesn’t have air conditioning, though I do carry their portable BougeRV AC unit for desperate days running off solar.
Fair Disclosure: I received a free review sample of the product
The F02 is the bigger outdoor-style fan with a hefty battery pack, good for the flybridge on warm afternoons or evenings. It handles light splashes and rain, rotates, offers multiple speeds, has built-in lights, USB charging ports, and an AC adapter option. It’s pretty heavy at nearly 12 pounds, but it delivers strong airflow for up to 8 hours on high.
The smaller F01 is much lighter and handier for inside the boat. It has a built-in battery, an app for control and scheduling, a timer, adjustable lights, and a percentage readout. I tested it against our existing 12-volt helm fans, and it moved comparable or better air while being quieter and fully portable. The bigger one is solid for construction or high-volume needs, but I prefer the little one for our cruising lifestyle. Both have warm LED lights and should be really useful around the boat. I’ll follow up after summer with long-term thoughts on how they hold up.
