We’ve just docked at Port McNeill’s public marina after a more fantastic few days exploring the coastal waters of the Broughtons. With North Island Marina full, we snagged a slip in the Port McNeill public marina to resupply water and food and hunker down for some incoming windy weather.
Our recent journey started in serene Moore Bay, where we enjoyed a peaceful anchorage across from Thief Island and explored the turquoise waters of Kingham Inlet. From there, we cruised to a picturesque cove near Cecil Island in Greenway Sound, where a pod of dolphins swam around our boat one morning, a magical sight!
We also anchored at Seabreeze Islands, spotting a mama black bear and her two cubs foraging on the shore.
Crossing Blackfish Sound, we saw an eagle swimming to shore with wet wings, likely after a fishing attempt, while its partner watched from land.
Anne expertly maneuvered our boat into a tight dock at Port McNeill, handling a tricky 90-degree turn like a pro. With calm seas, wildlife galore, and a cozy marina to recharge, this leg of our adventure has been unforgettable!

Stay tuned as we head out for a few more weeks of Brouoghton adventures before it will be time to head back south to the Discovery Islands for September boating.
