This video captures serene and captivating wildlife scenes from the Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge, located at the southern end of the Salton Sea in California, not far from Palm Springs. To celebrate our first wedding anniversary and 21st year as a couple, we decided to immerse ourselves in one of our favorite activities: exploring nature.

The refuge, a short drive from our camp at the Salton Sea State Recreation Area, offered the perfect escape. We hopped into the truck and set off on an adventure filled with exercise and bird-watching. The refuge is a sanctuary for countless bird species, providing a peaceful retreat where we could connect with nature and each other.
