While visiting a fellow RVer friend of mine recently I helped him out by diagnosing and fixing his motorhome entrance steps. They were stuck in the out position unable to retract.

In the video, I show you what was causing the entrance steps to be stuck in the out position on his Travel Supreme Motorhome. The culprit turned out to be an intermittent 12 volt 85 amp solenoid supplying the rig’s main DC power. Replacing it gave me back the main 12-volt power and got the steps working again.

I ask in the video if any viewers have a motorhome like this with the same switch setup to take a photo of the wiring. I came into the repair after another person had tried to fix it and the wires were a mess. I can’t find a schematic for this circuit. I finish off the video noting a few other failures that can cause the steps to quit working such as a faulty motor, control board, magnetic door sensor and poor ground connections.
