In this video, I show you why our beloved 1994 Ford F350 truck is dying.
The 7.3L IDI diesel engine has severe blowby and is leaking oil. The local diesel repair shop figures its a cracked piston or bad rings. Maybe more, but a total motor tear down would be needed to figure things out. Anyway, we have determined it’s not worth the money and effort to repair because it’s nearly 25 years old. Many parts are now obsolete.
Having a reliable tow vehicle is crucial to us as full-time RVers who spend a good portion of the year traveling. It’s a sad day for Anne and I as we have grown extremely fond of Big Blue but look forward to the features and power a new truck will provide.
