Here’s a nifty ant battling tip from a Love Your RV reader named David. Check out the photo. Wow! I feel fortunate I haven’t had to deal with that. – Ray

I enjoy your website and all the mods you have made. Even though we are not full-time RV’ers I’m a lot like you and feel the need to improve on the original. Recently I made the Marinco 30 amp Power Plug Conversion to stop the ants from getting in the trailer through the original “mouse hole”.

The conversion was a success but I still found that the ants would travel up the cord just like it was a major highway.

Ants trapped on the RV power cord

A low-cost solution which your other readers might appreciate is to take Gorilla Tape and wind it carefully around the cord with the sticky side out. It’s amazing how many ants get caught.

Keep up the good work.
Regards,
David

Connie on Twitter has added a recommendation for a product called Bug Stop

Or you can just spray around your RV with Bugstop (including power cord area) whenever you park as part of set up.
