We’ve had a nice time in Carriden Bay, and today we’re heading up Drury Inlet, which is just around the corner. The entrance through Stuart Narrows is narrow with strong tidal currents, so we timed it for slack around 12:30. Before that, we checked out a potential anchorage near Hopetown Passage on the other side from where we stayed at Blair Islet a couple of weeks ago. It looked like a decent little spot with a house on shore, something we might try in the future. The day started foggy but cleared into blue skies and temperatures heading into the low 20s, with more warm, clear weather coming.

We motored through carefully, avoiding the rock in the narrows where the current can hit six or seven knots. Once inside, Drury Inlet opened up into a long straight stretch before narrowing into islets and small anchorages near the end.

The far end funnelled wind from Queen Charlotte Strait, so we backed out and tucked into a quiet one-boat spot among the islets with good swinging room and views down the inlet. There’s been a fair bit of logging on the low hills, but the inner spots are pretty, and we’ll take the dinghy out to explore more in the next video.
